In what amounted to not much more than a G-League scrimmage, the Lakers won the battle between depleted rosters with a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder 120-101. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com and LakerTom from lakerholics.com stop by to talk about if it still feels good to get one in the win column, what the signing of Wenyen Gabriel to a contract actually means, and who we think is the coach of the year and All-NBA Lineups on our latest Lakers Fast Break podcast! Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com, and LakerTom and Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com stop by to talk about if there was anything they could take away from the game, the Anthony Davis trade rumors that have immediately (and unsurprisingly) popped up after being eliminated, and the waiving of Trevor Ariza. LeBron James and Anthony Davis returned to the lineup to square off in an important must-win game with the New Orleans Pelicans. But LeBron’s 38 and AD’s 23 wasn’t enough as again poor execution in a tight game does the Lakers in as they end up being the April Fools losing 114-111. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com plus LakerTom and Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com are here to lament over what went wrong, how the Lakers have dug an even deeper hole in 11th place in the Western Conference, and our thoughts on the NCAA Final Four on the Lakers Fast Break podcast! The Lakers couldn’t ride their best first-half of the season as a terrible third quarter and a no-offense fourth quarter left the team in a dogfight as the Lakers ended up losing 9th place in the Western Conference to the New Orleans Pelicans 116-108. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com and LakerTom from lakerholics.com chime in with Gerald as the Lakers fall to 10th in the Western Conference. Click on the player for the audio version of today’s podcast! A historic day for LeBron James, as he passes Karl Malone to become the #2 All-Time NBA scorer, was a disappointing one for the Lakers as they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter and lose to the Washington Wizards 127-119. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com, and LakerTom and Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com talk with Gerald about the great achievement for LeBron, how good they looked in the first half, and why it all fell apart for the team. Great Lakers Fast Break podcast last night. Gerald and Joe and I were all in great spirits after a great win. While nobody was going out on a limb after what we’ve seen this season, there was definitely a sense that the curse that’s plagued us may be over. Balls seemed to bounce fairly and shots seemed to fall when wide open and the Lakers suddenly looked like a real NBA team.

The Lakers once again had an uphill climb as the Timberwolves’ big first quarter proved too much to overcome with a 124-104 victory over Los Angeles as the team’s record falls to 29-40. Tune in as the always controversial Joe Soro from lakersball.com plus Jamie Sweet and LakerTom from lakerholics.com vent to Gerald once again about what continues to go wrong for the team, how this month will continue to look worse after their 11th straight road loss, and what moves they should start considering now. Let the fighting begin on our latest Lakers Fast Break podcast!

Good to have four participants in the LFB podcast last night. After everybody got a chance to vent, we tried to discuss who the Lakers should target this summer.
When pushed, Jamie Sweet came up with a great answer: Myles Turner. I added Christian Wood to Jamie’s list. Last addition was Jerami Grant, whom the Pistons want two draft picks for.
Lakers cannot play micro ball with only LeBron or even small ball with just LeBron and AD. They need a third stretch big, either a center or forward who can protect the rim and shoot the three.
