"According to a source in touch with the player, Lowry would like a guaranteed three-year deal, averaging $30 million per season.”
The Sixers would have to trade one of Ben or Tobias to squeeze Lowry in under the hard cap at this price. https://t.co/lWJoFRavUm

That would eliminate the Lakers because of the hard cap from signing-and-trading for him. Can’t pay him more than $25M per year. May be time for Lakers to consider Lonzo.

I agree, Tom. The question though is if you are willing to pay him $25M what does a $5M difference make if you want to go all out on him, especially if you are a premier franchise like the Lakers?

It’s not just the money but I would be very uncomfortable giving 3 years to a guy with the injury history of Lowery when he will be 38 when the deal is over. Honestly he may have problems getting 3 years, 30 mil from anyone.

Very true, Michael. In the past, I have expressed my disdain for injury-prone players, especially the ones you basically have to put all your eggs in the basket for.

It means you don’t have cap space to keep Caruso.

Lol, so much for the LA homecoming/pay cut click bait.

No way Lakers should accommodate that level of salary for Kyle Lowry. Oh, good news, they can’t.

You have to remember $30 million is what Kyle is asking for. He may take less to go to the team he prefers, whether that’s the Lakers, Heat, or Sixers. Still lots of options for all 3 teams. Too many point guards and not enough landing spots.
