A vibrant chat, Sean did an excellent job highlighting the vapid and insidious nature of internet trolls specifically within the sport fan community, and Laker Tom is already talking about trades this summer! FYI NBA trades can’t be made until draft night (wink and a handshake type) and finalized on day one if free agency! But it’s still fun.

Good podcast by Gerald and Jamie. Tough to do that podcast after the disappointment at the trade deadline. This was the first one I missed and thought it was best that I not participate. Wasn’t sure I could control my anger and disappointment.
Good discussion about Dennis Schroder, who clearly is not worth $80 to $100 million for 4 years. Good discussion about who else besides Drummond the Lakers might look at from the buyout market. Jamie likes Avery Bradley. Interesting discussion about what happens if Drummond signs with Knicks. I might agree with him on Boogie could be a better fit for the Lakers as a stretch 5.
Love Jamie’s talk about how do we overcome ‘going south.’ That’s a key observation that shows Jamie’s excellent mind. When things go south, who shows up. So far, nobody has taken the horns and turned this into an opportunity. As for our team, they are what they are and it’s obvious that’s all they are.

Also we went on at like 12:30, lol. But yeah, it’s a tough moment in Laker Land and the construction of this team was built on the idea that at least one, if not both, of LBJ and AD are the floor. When they’re not all the flaws glare, Frank looks like the coach we though we got last summer when he was #4 on the depth chart. Shine and polish are off the wagon now but we still gotta push it all the way home. Kuzma and Trezz have put forth the best efforts. DS wants $$ needs to bring his $$ game. AC, THT, et al need to at least execute their roles. This ain’t going anywhere if we can’t do that much we’re sunk.

Thoughts on the trading deadline:
-Laker fans likely left expecting more.
-Toronto looking to make Lowry a lifer.
-Orlando with the surprise fire sale but could have gotten more.
-Chicago pairing LaVine with Vucevic is a league altering combo.
-Portland getting Norman Powell is a coup and hurt the Lakers.
-Same for the Nuggets and Gordon.
-Dallas did well to snap up J.J.What are the Lakers going to do if they don’t land Drummond on the buyout market? With James and Davis out for multiple weeks we could be in some hot water…

Disappointing result but a great podcast. Gerald showed why he is the podcaster extraordinaire keeping things hopping. Great discussions of the various trades and the Lakers moves. Terrible game but excellent podcast with great discussion of how low the Lakers could fall (Welcome to the Play-In Tournament) and how LeBron’s injury changes what they may do. KCP, Trezz, and Gasol on the trade block. THT and pick supposedly not but don’t see the Lakers allowing either to prevent them from making a trade they like and need.
Talked about how Lakers going all in on Andre Drummond joining the Lakers after being bought out, to the extent they’re willing to trade the only two centers on their roster. Of course, the expectation that AD will play the five in the playoffs is their insurance. And even if they somehow miss on Drummond, there are other options, including Damian Jones.
