The Lakers continue the road trip with one of their most important games of the season as they went into the Target Center to face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And despite falling behind early, the Lakers clamped down defensively in the third quarter, and despite turning his ankle Anthony Davis gave a gutsy performance with 38 and 17 as the Lakers ran away and hid from the T-Wolves with a convincing 123-111 victory. Tune in as we have a PACKED house as LakerTom and Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com, Joe Soro from lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break celebrate the team’s great performance, give you an injury update and playing status on Anthony Davis, and where the team stands in the Western Conference now that they are above .500 for the first time since January 2022 and the first time this season. Gerald talks about attending the HUGE sports card show The Mint Collective at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this weekend. The Lakers are finally enjoying some prosperity as we honor a great game right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers started out their most important road trip of the year looking at a rematch against Patrick Beverley and the Chicago Bulls. And despite giving up a big lead in the first half, the Lakers regained form with Chicago-born Anthony Davis showing off in front of the home crowd with 38 points, LeBron James and Austin Reaves chipping in with 25 and 19 and the Lakers pulled away for a (relatively) easy 121-110 victory to get back one more time to .500. Tune in as “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of SynBlades.com and lakersball.com, and Gerald Glassford of the Lakers Fast Break talk about tonight’s game, what the Lakers are up against in Minnesota on Friday, and what this team looks like when it has all the main pieces together. The Lakers find some revenge as they declare the Bulls as being “too small” on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

With the Lakers needing help as they fight for a playoff seed and two games out of 4th in the Western Conference, LeBron James returns much earlier than expected. But what he returned to was a poor team effort, compounded with an Anthony Davis finger injury as the Lakers get thumped by Patrick Beverley and the Chicago Bulls 118-108. Tune in as Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford of the Lakers Fast Break talk about the bittersweet return of LeBron (in only his second time ever coming off the bench), speculate if this was the Lakers’ worst game of the season, and get you up to speed on what’s going on with the Western Conference before the most important road trip of the season. LeBron’s back but so are the issues as the Lakers still can’t stand prosperity on the latest Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers went into Friday night’s matchup at the Crypt with the OKC Thunder in another must-win situation. In another stomach-churner, the Lakers got some clutch play from Anthony Davis (37 points), Dennis Schröder (21), and Lonnie Walker IV(20) which gave the Lakers a 116-109 victory, getting the team to .500 and 8th place in the Western Conference. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, Jamie Sweet of lakerholics.com, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about what happened with the game, where the Lakers stand in the Western Conference, and how the back-to-back in Chicago may be tougher than you think. 5 Things: Playoff Thud
Took me a couple days to get to an objective place on this series. There was a lot the Lakers did right, plenty they did wrong, and some things you chalk up to bad luck. All in all, only thing that matters is that the 2024-25 NBA season is done for the Los Angeles lakers […]
