With an important game looming on Wednesday, we’re back at Lakers Fast Break University and in-class logging some extra credit as we begin our series of Lakers rivalries with a focus on the Laker-Suns. Tune in as Professors “MagicMan” Sean Grice and Joe Soro, along with Dean of University Studies Gerald Glassford guide you through the history between these two teams and how some important matchups between the two give our faculty reason to explain why the Lakers-Suns rivalry is one of the more unheralded yet still very notable matchups for our beloved lakers franchise. We note key series the two teams have battled in, how Kobe Bryant and Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) have figured into it, and how the most recent playoff clash should’ve had a different ending. It’s time to go back to LFBU for some extra credit on our latest Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers went into a Sunday night matchup needing a win against Orlando after two straight debacles and finding themselves on the outside looking in as they went into The Crypt. With a lackluster effort by the starting five, it was the bench that carried the team led by Austin Reaves with a career-high 35 points as the Lakers pull away from the Magic late in the game with a 111-105 victory. Tune in as Stone Hansen from Upside Swings NBA Draft Podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of SynBlades.com and lakersball.com , and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break lay down some insight on the game, what the next week looks like for the team and our channel, and where things stand in the Western Conference. All this and an update on our Lakers Fast Break group in the ESPN NCAA Tournament Bracket Challenge. It’s a Sunday Night Matchup for us as we head into a crucial week of basketball for the team on our latest Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers returned to the Crypt after an embarrassing loss and still found themselves in 9th place in the Western Conference heading into a critical matchup against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite a terrible 2nd quarter, the Lakers did find themselves up by seven late in the game, but mistakes once again bit the Lakers as the Mavs defeat LA 111-110. Tune in as “MagicMan In The Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro from lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break share their thoughts on the game, what this means to the Western Conference playoff chase, and what’s up ahead with the Lakers. It’s another Friday night with your friends at the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers got back D’Angelo Russell to the lineup after a two-week absence just in time as the lakers played host to the Toronto Raptors. The return was just what the doctor ordered as D’Lo provided a boost to the team with 28 points and 9 assists as the Lakers came back from a third-quarter deficit to pull away with a 122-112 win to go to 33-34 and alone in 9th place in the Western Conference. Tune in as Stone Hansen from The Upside Swings NBA Draft Podcast, Joe Soro from SynBlades.com/lakersball.com, LakerTom from lakerholics.com, “MagicMan In The Morning” Host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break share thoughts on the game, where the Lakers are at in the Western Conference, and what the matchup with the Knicks might look like on Sunday. We welcome back D’Angelo with open arms on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

Always a fun podcast after a big win. I’ve said all week that this Friday/Sunday double header will be as big as the March 2020 weekend trouncing of the Bucks and Clippers. Raptor and Knicks were hottest two teams in the East. Welcome to the West.
By Sunday, we should see a four-way tie for 6th place in the West with the Lakers (who will beat the Knicks tomorrow), Mavs (who will lose to the Grizzlies today), Warriors (who will lose to the Bucks today), and Wolves all at 34-34.

We head back to Lakers Fast Break University to talk about one of Professor Sean Grice’s favorite subjects, the 1997-98 Lakers. Tune in as Dean Gerald Glassford, Professor Joe Soro of lakersball.com/SynBlades.com, and the “MagicMan” himself describe why it was so much fun to watch that team, the reason why it was such a pivotal year for the organization, the changes that were ultimately made that won them three titles, the four all-stars on that team, and could the Lakers have won more titles if they had kept the team together. All this and we give updates on the injuries to D’Angelo Russell and Mo Bamba and if either will return back to the lineup on Friday. Another fun lecture is on the way as we return for more classes at Lakers Fast Break University on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

What Should Lakers Do Offseason If Next Season Will Be LeBron’s Last?
Watching how exciting and entertaining these NBA playoffs have been without LeBron James and the Lakers has me worried that we may finally see LeBron James make the decision that next season would be his last.

5 Things: Playoff Thud
Took me a couple days to get to an objective place on this series. There was a lot the Lakers did right, plenty they did wrong, and some things you chalk up to bad luck. All in all, only thing that matters is that the 2024-25 NBA season is done for the Los Angeles lakers […]
