Why LeBron James, Frank Vogel and other Lakers are raving about Talen Horton-Tucker https://t.co/rx8cwCEXX1 via @Yahoo

LeBron James didn’t play in the Lakers’ preseason opener Friday night, but he did tweet an early review from the film session.
“Telling you right now! This kid is flat out SPECIAL!” James tweeted. “Mark my words.”
He’d just gotten done watching his 20-year-old teammate Talen Horton-Tucker put the kind of all-around touches on the game that have had Lakers insiders raving for the last four months. The passing, the shot-making, the slashing — it was all on display in the Lakers’ 87-81 win over the Clippers in their first game in Staples Center since March 10.
“That boy @Thortontucker is goin to be special,” Lakers veteran Jared Dudley tweeted after the win.
Another big time player to help AD win once LeBron has retired or another blue chip trade asset to land a third star at the trade deadline. What do you think?
I think they keep him unless a big opportunity comes up. Which is unlikely, given the package it took to get Davis.
I actually agree, John. We may not need to make a major trade with the talent and depth we have.
There is no way the Lakers should involve THT in any trade activity. This kid is growing right in front of our eyes and has barely scratched his potential. Honestly, teams will think twice before trading their second-round draft picks to the Lakers with the way they are able to find diamonds in the rough. This kid is just a pure basketball savant.
I just got done saying on tonight’s Lakers Fast Break podcast that THT is probably more untouchable than anybody on the roster except for LeBron and AD. There’s a better chance he will be a Laker long term than even Alex Caruso because of his potential, the fact that he will be a RFA, and the fact that he is a Klutch client, which are three things AC cannot claim.
Remember back when we were debating how to use our lottery picks? Sure, they were valuable, but they’re still gone. Kuz, AC, and THT turn out to be keepers, with Talen looking like the best of the bunch. Sure makes me look at the draft differently. Oh, and that steal off Kawhi and subsequent three last night was priceless.
