WHAT HAPPENS TO KYLE KUZMA NOW?

We know the Pistons want the Flynt, MI native so how about a double S&T with Detroit?
Lakers get Christian Wood on a new 3-year $45M contract.
Pistons get Kyle Kuzma, KCP on a new 3-year $36M contract, and center JaVale McGee to replace Wood. pic.twitter.com/BOYf7dE8BK

The best part of the trade for Schroder is Rob got almost everything the Lakers needed without giving up his most valuable trading chip in Kyle Kuzma:
1. Third reliable scorer.
2. Second capable playmaker.
3. Elite 3-point shooter, would have tied with KCP as best last year at 38.5%.
4. Excellent defender, 103.0 defensive rating would have been second on team to Caruso’s 101.0.
5, Another young player to complement Anthony Davis.
6. Still have Kyle Kuzma as trading chip to get another player.
After not blinking in trading a declining Danny Green, Rob is going to do the same with Kyle Kuzma, who should yield more than Green and the #28 pick. I love the idea of using Kuz, KCP, and JaVale to get Wood or a straight up swap for Kennard.
Be fun to see what Rob has in mind for Kyle. Kuz is a starter quality player who has no starting position on Lakers. He’s going to want to get paid. Better to move him now as he’ll become a restricted free agent next offseason. We’ll get best for him now.
Lakers players left with player options may be hesitating right now. They’ve seen Danny go and know Kuzma is next and the Lakers may need salary ballast. Better to exercise their player options and choose where to go than get traded. I think that’s why Bradley is opting out. McGee might be next. All of which helps the Lakers ability to use the full $9.3 million MLE for Ibaka or Baynes.
Center is the position to focus on next. Howard may be gone and McGee is unplayable. Cousins is a question mark. Woods would be the dream. Ibaka or Baynes more likely. Need a stretch five for sure. One of those three would be the cherry on top of our offseason sundae.
Aloha Tom
That’s way to much for Wood. first I don’t know what he will get on the open market. His sample size of good play is way to small. 2nd We are not trading KCP. we wouldnt even have to. take out KCP and replace him with Cook and the money works. The Pistons have zero leverage. They would take Kuz in a heartbeat or lose Wood for nothing.
i don’t know if Wood is even on the Lakers radar. They are in a win now mode and Wood will still need some development. For me, when yhey got Schroder I think they will keep Kuz. They may even extend him, to give them a tradeable contract for a sign and trade next off season.
I would be shocked if Kuz is not traded, He will be RFA next season and will get offers Lakers won’t match. Need to move him now to avoid losing him for nothing.
I do agree Wood is a long shot but the Pistons like him so there’s still a chance. Maybe we could interest the Pelicans for Redick since they’re going into rebuild mode.
