Sources: The Lakers will be among the teams to pursue DeMarcus Cousins.
The market will be limited for Cousins, sources say. He has struggled this year after returning from multiple major injuries. But for LA or any team in need of big man depth, few options bring higher upside.

Surprising since poor defense and rim protection was reason the Rockets decided not to play him.
Now we know why the Lakers let him go. Be surprised if he comes back.
See my reply above, John. I changed my mind because of Boogie volume 3-point shooting.
I agree he has upside and is a good 3 point shooter. But there must be more to the story. Why would they dump him for a guy coming off an injury? No guarantee Wood stays healthy.
Hi, John. The Rockets position is they’re not competing for the playoffs and prefer to go young and play small. They guaranteed Boogie’s contract and then told him soon as Wood returns, he won’t play and they will buy him out when he wants.
Wood is the real deal, a young forward who can both shoot the three and protect the rim. He’s also a great dunk threat on drives to the basket. He was the one player I was hoping the Lakers would try to land somehow this offseason via a sign-and-trade.
The Boogie trade off is clearly offense for defense as he has looked ground bound like Gasol. The difference is he is a better outside shooter than Marc, much more willing to shoot, and launches from above his head rather than from in front of his face like Gasol does, which limits his attempts.
Lakers will be able to sign Boogie on 2/24, when the prorated league minimum for vets becomes low enough to fit under the hard cap. He could be our 3rd center and 15th player.
