Shut up Richard Jefferson.Fans aren’t trying to hear your excuses on why the refs allow Shai to blatantly push off when defenders can’t get within 3 feet of him 😂😂 pic.twitter.com/so2wdiy7Vf— HeroOfTheDay (@Hero_OfThe_Day) June 17, 2025
Folks on both sides are so emotional about this topic. As always, the truth is someplace in the middle. He creates a lot of contact because he doesn’t settle for alotta 3’s and attacks the paint. It’s up to the refs to make the right call. I remember the Spurs neutralizing Harden one year just by keeping their arms up instead of swiping down at the ball on his drives.
I don’t watch his game, style or highlights…because they are small market IMHO, never should have gotten the Sonics move from Seattle, which will be rectified….and Seattle players will truly have their jerseys and careers honored. Maybe SGA gets away with the calls because he’s on the smaller side….unlike Luka, who has been getting away with guiding defenders away from him with his strength and size, but being in LA, Luka may have his AMEX Black Card replaced by a Capitol One card offer in his junk mail.
Shai is killing it, he gets as much leeway as any up-and-coming-star. He doesn’t fish for fouls like James used to before they A) stopped calling a lot of his flopping B) Made rules that would penalize him financially.
Players are taught to play in a manner that forces a choice from the refs, not to do their job for them. Like blaming a coach for the players on his roster, this is a silly debate.
One sure fire way to see how much NBA players value money is how many of them are willing to pony up extra cash for technical or flopping fouls. There are a handful of guys who’s mental makeup put them on the short list of 10+ techs every season. After that?
Money is money. RJ just whining like he did when he played. He had Ainge Face far too often. Solid wing, tho.
