Aloha,
There are a few articles on how Rob totally pissed off DFS. His camp felt like Rob was bad mouthing him in an effort to drive down his market value. On top of that he only offered him a two year deal. I understand that part. The silver lining is when you look at what the other center targets signed for, we would not have been able to sign any of them. So DFS walking gave us a center.
Still you want him to leave on good terms when he is one of Luka’s best friends and you want to keep Luka. I’m sure they talked. One of articles went on to talk about Rob as one of the least liked GM’s around the league. That’s not news but a reminder of how this guy really needs to go.
It’s too late to make a change right now but this needs to be Rob’s last season. Heck I would remove him before the season ends.
Preaching to the choir, man, I gave up on Rob after we chose THT over Caruso. That was all the writing on the wall I needed. Everything else has fallen into the same pattern. His best move was digging us out of a hole he created and he didn’t botch the Luka trade. Not inspiring.
Rob Pelinka is always one trade away from next monster out-of-the blue winning trade or nightmare franchise killing trade. He is the definition of untrustworthy.
