Trevor Lane doesn’t think Kuzma, Caruso, THT, #28 pick, and Green as filler is enough because of animosity for AD trade and other teams’ offers. Clippers no. He likes Nuggets, Heat, Bucks, Nets, or Warriors.
All depends on what other teams are willing to offer to a player who may not re-sign. Would Nuggets give up MPJ or Heat give up Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson, would Nets give up LeVert and Dinwiddie? Or Warriors offer #2 and Wiggins?
Ironically, Jrue may have similar power as AD did. What teams will be willing to pay will depend on whether he’s willing to re-sign with him. I think Lakers have a real shot here because they’re willing to take the re-signing risk.
Jrue need to announce the Lakers are the only team he will re-sign with. Note he also has a player option after the coming year. So Jrue has leverage that he could use as teams looking to trade him are going to ask him what he plans to do and will he re-sign.
I don’t think so either. I also don’t think that would work this time. Only add to the anger over AD.
Ironically, I don’t think the other competitors are going to be so willing to give up players like Herro or LeVert for what could be a rental and a short season rental at that.
Frankly, the Lakers offer is really a great fit for the Pelicans depth chart. They give up Holiday and get the rest of the Lakers great young depth. Suddenly, they’re a team with a lot of pieces to go star chasing a couple of seasons from now.
I know it’s a long shot but it would be a win/win trade imo.
Jrue has a deal that can run through the next 2 seasons. That’s not a rental and it would give the team traded his Full Bird rights. I think the market for him will be hotter than for CP3. Paul is so expensive you need to gut a team to get him. For us that just doesn’t make sense.
The above price for Jrue is too pricey, better bring back a perfect fit if you’re trading away Caruso who does fit excellently.
If opportunity knocks, Lakers will answer. AC is not untouchable. But he’s a big time asset to a team. Bigger thaan the stats. And Griff is the kind of GM who understands how valuable he could be.
AC could be the difference maker that all the pundits aren’t considering when they count the Lakers as having no chance of trading for Jrue.
Excellent recap by Trevor Lane for LakersNation.

No one better to comment than AD.

Jrue won’t play NOLA like that.
