The Lakers should be top competitor to trade for Jrue. He’s the perfect point guard for them. Scorer, playmaker, and defender. Knows how to play with AD. I would offer Kuzma, Green, THT, McGee, and #28 pick to get him. https://t.co/DKpRkjy4bp

Jrue is actually the point guard I think would be the best fit for the Lakers but was ranked 5 out of 6 because I gave his Feasibility a ‘C.’ which put him behind easier to acquire and less costly targets Schroder, Dragic, CP3, and Rose.
Frankly, I would even be willing to give up Caruso instead of THT if the Pelicans were interested. There’s also the possibility of removing some of the protection on the two picks we owe them. There is no point guard or shooting guard out there whom I would rather have be the Lakers third star. He would be perfect.
Of course, the competition is going to be heavy from Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and the Clippers to land Holidy. I’m sure they’re among the contending teams Shams is talking about. Just hope Rob is aslo one of the guys talking with Griff about Jrue. Trading for him would be lightning in a bottle for the Lakers and make them odds on favorites to win their second Covid championship.
Aloha Tom,
of the starter level that maybe available, he is the only one i would go after. Primary because is an all NBA defender and is comfortable playing shooting guard, because everyone knows that Lebron will continue to be the PG. it would come down to, how much they like Kuz and Alex. would they trade for Kuz since they already have Brandon and Zion at the forwards? personally i would simply because Brandon can guard the 2 and would be a mismatch nightmare at the 2. i can easily see them keeping Holiday if they dont find a deal they love, and then waiting to see where they are at the trade deadline.

Hope that helps. I almost always end up having to edit my comment for some reason, accidentally posting it, making a spelling error. For long responses, I often write the response in Word on my opc or Notes on my iPhone and then copy and paste it. Much easier.
Anyway, it’s nice to know there’s a comment coming when I see your Aloha, Tom…
Glad to see we’re on the same wavelength here, Michael. It’s great too that Rob and Griff already made one deal and I remember they were trying to also get Kuzma included in the deal and Alex and Talen showed their worth on the highest stage first time out.
I think it’s a great offer and makes sense for both teams. And I think Jrue and Anthony always had great rapport. And that one year with Rondo was Jrue’s and Anthony’s best playoffs ever. Got my fingers crossed.
We may not be offering an equivalent star but three great role players, another first round pick, and some veteran filler.
Griff’s also the kind of PBO that will send a player where he wants to go if possible and I think Jrue can see the possibilities to rejoin AD and Rondo on Lakers with LeBron.
While i would like to aquire Holiday, i believe there other teams out there that could make siimilar if not better offers out there. a lot will depend on who else is interested. i dont believe the Pels would make a trade just to make a trade. if they dont like any offers they will wait until the trade deadline. that could actually help us if some of our young players take another step forward. of course if they were big steps we might not want to make a trade.
THIS trade I can get behind. You better be acquiring a proven winner if you trade Caruso who has an astoundingly great symbiosis with leBron and AD. FOr a guy who comes off the bench and contributes 20-25 mpg at his cost you better bring back a winner. Jrue ain’t that. Not at this level.
Yeah, I love this trade too. We give up the rest of our great young talent but get the perfect player who’s a great scorer, playmaker, AND defender, who already has great relationships with AD, Rondo, and Boogie. Only worry is it could be a rental.
But the flip side is this is how we can get a third max superstar. Trade for him, get his Bird rights, then re-sign him to a max. No need to have LeBron or AD take less. Then do same with another player to replace LeBron before he retires to extend championship window. Only way to make it work. Great opportunity, could happen imo. Depends on what other teams willing to offer for what could be a rental.
This is also where winning the ship makes a big difference. You know Jrue must be envious of AD and knows he’s a great fit for the Lakers and they’re a great fit for him. And they have the money to max him after next season.
By the way, Jamie. Great comments and conversations, man! Been a lot of fun. Thanks.
