According to @WindhorstESPN, trading Kyle Kuzma, Danny Green and a FRP to Indiana for Victor Oladipo is ‘too much’…

I respectfully disagree, Sean. I think trading KK, DG, and the pick for Oladipo would be a great opportunity for the Lakers to land a potential All-NBA and All-Defensive player.
Now, should the Lakers have their doctors examine Victor and our coaches and trainers work him out to make sure he has no permanent damage? For sure. If he passes all the test, then I make the trade.
There is a risk but he only has a year left so you’re not tying up your cap space of future. The payoff if he returns to the player he was two years ago, however, is the third superstar to go with LeBron and AD for whom you have Bird rights to pay whatever you want. It’s the only way to get a third superstar with all three making max.
Like the idea of trading for him. Just not that offer.
What would you give up for Oladipo?
I agree magicman, based on how he looked in the Bubble, based on him seeming to expect max money at some point despite the health concerns reminds me of the intractable situation that was Isaiah Thomas.
To be even more honest, though, I think the Pacers can get a lot better of a package for Victor than what we can put together. I think Indy would rather see a package from us of Bradley, Kuzma, Caruso and picks. Slotting Green into trades feels like we’re expecting someone to just jump up and thank us for giving them the bread maker they know they gave us for Christmas a couple years back. The on-court impact/dollar isn’t great. IMO the above package I listed is too much.
I will say, as a counter-point, that Oladipo is probably one of the best fits alongside LBJ and AD that can be had. He doesn’t need the ball but can play well with it, does a lot of little things we rely on as a team pretty well. Not sure he can be the best player on an NBA team, though, which leaves a LeBron-sized question mark about the future.
