ESPN story on Mike D'Antoni finalizing an assistant coaching deal to reunite with Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash. https://t.co/CnLS8AnDlu

It would appear that Jacque Vaughn will remain as lead assistant, Mike D'Antonio will handle the offense, Ime Udoka defense, Amar'e Stoudemire big man duties and Adam Harrington will continue to run player development. Beyond that, staff and duties uncertain.

Have to wonder if the Nets might be the ideal trade partner for the Rockets to move Harden. Net’s have a lot of good young players who could restock the Rockets. Trade of LeVert, Harris (S&T), Dinwiddie, Kurucs, Jordan, & picks would work.
I do like the idea of D’Antoni running the O and Udoka the D.
Nets could be a problem next season. Lots of firepower and talent if KD comes back and Kyrie doesn’t self destruct.
Finally. He learned what he’s best at: running a high octane NBA offense. I have long been an advocate of MDA ditching the head coaching mantle and being the best offensive coordinator in the NBA and it looks like he finally read my memo from 8 years ago when he was first hired.
I also have said I thought he would make a fine college coach and I firmly believe that, as well. But the one-dimensional emphasis he’s always placed on the offensive end is why I’ve never been able to embrace the hype of him as a head coach.
Looks like Steve has assembled quite the 7 seconds or less crowd of assistants. Where does The Matrix come in and when?! Raja Bell, too!
Should have read: “first hired by the Lakers”…
