All this hyperbole is going to wear awful thin really quickly. Pretty sure LeBron says this kinda thing every time he signs an extension/picks up an option. Only thing that’s changed is the Lakers now have his replacement in hand. We’re building around Luka and this tidbit dropped by Rich Paul is just a signal that LBJ’s camp might be open to a trade. Because, if one allows one opinion to be informed by logic, the 40+ year old doesn’t have a helluva lotta leverage and very, very teams are likely to be able to take his deal on and still be competitive.

It’s almost as if people haven’t paid attention to how LeBron & Rich Paul have operated over the past 20 years….

There is no way to build a solid team using the Non tax payer MLE. But if we could add Sharpe who also can play the 4, Capella and Bruce Brown. That would not be a bad deal. To make it work we would need to cut Milton. He is non guaranteed. Of course Adou would need to have a very good rookie year but it would make sense. And Vando would need to find a little offense. And Goodwin and Bronny would need to grow, but that needs to happen anyway for us to have a chance.

Hey, Howard, I do agree that Reaves staying becomes more likely with LeBron leaving. Lot of the redundancy is eliminated. Two non-plus defenders in the backcourt is a problem. Need a great shot blocker to give it any chance to suceed.

Like…the dude has a mercenary streak in him dating to The Decision. He’s always done what’s best for his career and it’s hard to argue with the results. Having said that, a max contract spot isn’t the worst outcome by a long shot. With that much room we can absorb a player into cap space, sign multiple players, or shoot for another Star.

Lakers playing everything close to the vest now. Wonder if they maybe have something locked up already with NAW?

We’ll see, thinking he won’t find much more $$$ out there and is looking to lock up multiple years. Either way we either retain a quality 2 way player or address a need.
