Sorry, Dave. Lakers were smart to sign AD to extension. When that contract starts two years from now, those numbers will be great bargains and all of the new contracts will start at $50M.

And if the Lakers wanted to trade AD, there would be a long line of teams wanting to get him. He will restore himself as a top five players next season. In 4 years, he’s won 1 championship and 1 conf finals.

AD’s performance this past postseason made me forgive him for all the frustrations he caused me for his lack of availability these past seasons. I was very pleased with his performance.

I think it’s fair. Ron Artest got suspended almost 100 games for fighting an arena, this wasnt illegal and it can’t be confirmed that wasnt a replica kr “toy” gun. Now we can argue that cols have shot kids for worse (they have) but the NBA isn’t a legal entity. It’s bad PR and I won’t be surprised if it gets reduced to 20.

The only way to go over the salary cap is to resign your own players that have bird rights. For instance we could resign DLO, Austin and Rui and go over because we have bird rights. We could not resign Dennis or Lonnie and go over because they only played one year and we don’t have bird rights. Next year you will be able to bring back 110% of the money you send out in a trade but after that it will be dollar for dollar in a trade. The reason why the Warriors are so far over the cap is because they drafted a lot of their players.

If he took 30 then we could probably do it but it wouldn’t leave a lot of cap space. But why would he take 30 is the better question. He will get a bigger offer from the Mavs. Rarely does a player take far less than what he can get. It’s always business first.
