Most of the decent ones fetched a 1st rounder, and not one 5 years away. The Lakers had one bullet in the chamber due to all the poor personnel decisions they’ve made over the years. The only worthwhile assets they had, they couldn’t afford to part with for a fringe move here or there. All in all, they did nothing, much like they’ll do in the playoffs.

The Lakers main targets were not traded. Click bait guys were throwing names around but when you look at the guys that true insiders said the Lakers were targeting only maybe Royce O’Neil who went for 3 seconds was moved. Dinwiddie had some interest as well but we can still get him on the buy out market.

Didn’t have enough for Murray (without possibly giving up Reaves). PJ Washington demanded a 1st. Bojan and Burks were had for 2nd’s + Grimes who I guess they wanted. Gafford looks like he went cheap. Hayward was a salary dump. Even Olynyk fetched a first for this upcoming draft. Lakers had nothing much to part with and that’s what they ended up getting.

think that injuries are a reasonable excuse to a degree. When all your helpers are inconsistently hurt consistently it’s hard get to real gauge. Hachi, Cam, etc that can’t play long enough to show, “I the Man.” And of all Players LBJ and AD are relatively healthy. Go figure, eh?

It’s been a combination of role players getting injured, the coach consistently not putting together smart lineups, and several key role players not playing as well as expected: DLO, Reaves, Vando, Reddish, Vincent, Hayes, Woods. Can they turn it around? We may find out tomorrow night against the 3-point raining Mavs.

It’s a combination of the injuries to role players and not knowing how the healthy ones will play from game-to-game. You can’t put together a “smart” lineup under those parameters. It’s more of a roster construction issue…
