Great interview. Some great stuff about how Smart’s voice has energized practice, how LeBron’s injury was a silver lining, how team wants to win cup, T-shirt campaign, Austin not having ever made a hole-in-one, raves about free agency last year helped team develop depth. Good stuff from Rob.
While many are talking about the big three, I am paying more attention to the little things that don’t show up.
First, Rui’s midrange shots and overall shooting has become deadly. Something we haven’t had in a long time.
Second, Marcus Smart is bringing in a Dennis Rodman type of defense, only without the rebounding. But what Rodman does in rebounding Smart does it in steals. In other words, Rodman is a better rebounder, Smart is a better thief.
Ok, I know Laker fans are tough to please, but Luka frickin Doncic is on the team. For Street Clothes and a bag of chips. And Nico is unemployed. Enough said.
