There’s a strong logic to the idea that signing an extension makes it easy for the Lakers to trade Dennnis if they don’t win a championship. The Lakers can’t S&T him this summer or it would hard cap them and hurt their chances of keeping Caruso and THT. On the other hand, if Dennis agrees to the extension this summer, then he can’t be traded until midseason. So waiting eliminates the possibility of becoming trade bait. Of course, Dennis still has to play well enough for the Lakers to offer him the extension this summer but free agency should give him more leverate.

Lakers going to be deadly with that trio on the floor. Marc at the top of the key with his 3-point shooting and elite passing is going to open up the paint for LeBron and AD like they never saw last season. Add any two lakers who can shoot and you have the best starting lineup in the league.
