Doubts Pelicans is where Lowry will go. Favorite is 76ers because he grew up there and played college BB there but Lakers and Heat also in it. Good news for Lakers is Jake says lots of NBA vets looking to join LeBorn to win a ring.

Lowry’s top three destinations in order: Philly, Miami, Toronto, LA. LA will only happen if nobody else comes up to his asking price. Quite the pay cut, I must say. I keep him in Toronto before coming here because he is on record as saying he loves the organization, the city, the fans and wants to retire there. If he was going to do any franchise a favor and take less than his 25-30 million it would be that one.
As LT said, Philly makes sense on a surface level since he’s from there, played college there, but what holds true for folks from LA applies to other metropolitan cities, as well. Just because you grew up somewhere doesn’t mean there’s a fire lit under your rear end calling you home, again. Maybe there is, just as likely there’s not. I’m sure he could buy a house in Philly for whenever he felt like going back there.
Miami makes a ton of sense because it checks all his boxes and he instantly upgrades the roster, stays in the East and no income tax so even if he ends up taking 20-25 mil it’s still more than he’d make playing in California. Again, same as Ball, I never even had Kyle penciled in as becoming a Laker for a multitude of reasons not listed above (age, health issues, fit with LeBron).
I could easily see Toronto looking at Brooklyn and Dinwiddie, as well, and looking to take a risk on Spencer. They could do a S&T with the Nets for $25 million for both dudes and still have a lot of space under the hard cap to build a team around that core. How/why Brooklyn would do that is another question entirely but with Trader Darryl at the helm I count nothing out. It’s the NBA, nothing is as it seems.
