JUST IN: The Los Angeles Lakers and Nick Smith Jr. have agreed to a two-way contract, league sources told @hoopshype. The 21-year-old guard showed flashes of potential, averaging 9.9 points in 22.8 minutes while starting 27 of 60 games played for the Charlotte Hornets last season pic.twitter.com/OEcUgpXgHx— Michael Scotto (@MikeAScotto) September 29, 2025
Great move to be able to sign him to a two-way.
6′ 5″ with 6′ 8″ wingspan.
We need to open roster spot and convert him.
He could earn rotation minutes.
Whether for Nick Smith or another…. if there are teams wanting Vandolrian (LOL), Gabe Vincent, Kleber if he’s not 100% still….may take losing Knecht (which I would hate to see) to convince another team…..
I was just thinking that Smith should be wary of having the same thing happening to him that happened to Jordan Goodwin…well, since Goodwin was able to sign with the Suns for $2.49 million…(I’m not sure if it’s guranteed or when it becomes)…maybe that’s what he’s hoping for, some exposure…Smith was only waived on the 25th…looking at Hoopshype salaries, Nick Smith Jr was listed on the Hornets for $2.7 million for this season….so that hurt his wallet….
