The NBA landscape is suddenly changing dramatically as the Lakers competitors load up. That’s going to put pressure on the Lakers to make moves they might not have been willing to do normally. This offseason is going to be like last offseason with lots of big names moving and superteams being created.
KCP S&T’s are the key and players like Caruso and THT may be needed to make the right deal. I love the idea of Zach but doubt the Bulls would agree to the above deal. I do think a KCP S&T with Kuzma for Oladipo would be the Lakers best bet. I would also try to see if a deal for JJ Redict could work.
Championship this year could come down to benches. Looks like the Bucks and Nets are going to strip down their teams for enoughting lineups. If Lakers play their cards right, they can still be dominant. Probably need one big trade as free agency won’t be enough. More competition for ring chasers to chose from now.
It’s the days leading up to the moment guys can sign these days that get the most frenetic. I don’t see this trade happening as Zach is signed through 2022 for $19.5 mil every season. They won’t gum up the pursuit for GA by trading away 1/4 of a playoff core for LaVine. They’d go after DeRozan before pulling this off, he’s an URFA next summer. I don’t see either one happening, honestly. I think that, with DS in the fold and assuming we keep one of Bradley, Rondo or KCP (if not 2 of the 3, hard to see holding onto all 3 now), we’re set at the 1 and the 2. You can give a G-leaguer some spot minutes in the regular season, see if they have the chops to contribute or sign someone who will (inevitably) get waived which was how we got Morris.

Good shooter, but we’d be paying a steep price IMHO.
But potentially a great fit with AD going forward.
That’s a haul to give up for “potentially great fit”. Need to bring back something better for that lot of guys.
