Ehhh…too pricey, too fragile. I like Wood or Turner better…problem with Turner will be prying him away will take some doing. Love when he’s an URFA and can be had for cheaper is the only way he should arrive on the Lakers. Not sure who I would trade for him and we’re going to need guard help, especially fi Rondo finds a big pay day somewhere.
Yeah, I agree. While I do love Love’s rebounding and outlet passing, he’s not a great defender in the post or on the perimeter.
Turner would be the perfect fit and is proven. Elite shot blocker, good perimeter defender, good 3-point shooter. I would throw the kitchen sink at the Pacers to get him. Kuzma, THT, and Caruso and 2020 and 2026 first round picks plus their pick of filler from Bradley, McGee, Green, and Cook.
Wood is not as good post or perimeter defender but elite 3-point shooter and has mega upside. Just read that the Pistons were talking about trying to use Early Bird Rights to get him, which means same as MLE or $9M. Lakers should go after him hard if they can’t get Turner. Not sure what Rob is thinking.
Coronavirus has made signing a third superstar harder and now that we have won the championship, we might be in a win now mode for next season.
I would say that we entered ‘win now’ mode when we signed LBJ. Nothing has really changed that posture, we stopped our rebuild at that exact moment. Hard fir me to see one player bring back the impact of Caruso, Kuzma, Bradley and Green. You’re trading away our two best ball hawks for a guy who anchors a position we have a high end talent at already, even if we just keep McGee for a lot cheaper. No, he doesn’t shoot hte three or block the raw number of shots but he anchors the post defense ably enough.
I do wonder what the trade market will be for Green, he had a pretty statistically mediocre playoffs and regular season but has a high level of impact on defense and does provide spacing simply because of the threat of his shooting.
Kuzma is the obvious sweetener, a player who we will struggle to sign next “summer” (or whatever the new NBA schedule ends up looking like) and one can envision a plethora of GMs wondering what he could do in a more featured role. I wonder the same thing. But to get Turner we’ll need a lot more than Green and Kuzma and, since Myles isn’t a ball handling center/PF I think we would be wiser to bring back Markieff and roll with him and mcGee. I expect Dwight to sign elsewhere for bigger money, better role.
Would be a great fit next to AD.
