Read MoreYou’re probably right but Bradley looked terrible at both ends against the Suns and Frank was very high on what he saw from Austin.
I think Reaves is going to be a huge plus for the Lakers. I see him taking over a role very similar to Caruso on this team. He won’t be the 6th man but will be right there among the top eight by the end of the season. Frank can already see that he fits great with the Big Three.
Love Reaves’ willingness to fire the three and grittiness on defense. He has the potential to be a starter at the two for this team. He has the size, stroke, and defensive mentality we need.

-Warriors are back indeed, team to be reckoned with now.
-Free throws can’t be this bad, simple as that.
-AB’s preseason happening in the regular season.
-Kent was a highlight.
-Been worried about the defense since before preseason, not sure we can look to just AB to fix that.
-AD at the line has become way more of an adventure than anyone ever imagined.
-Laker bench got it handed to them big time.
-The Rondo/Westbrook pairing is a no-go for me, as well.
-The points in the paint is a huge issue but not sloely on Dwight and DeAndre’s shoulders. Dwight and DeAndre played 26 minutes combined and none of those were in crunch time. So that comes down to none other than Anthony Davis and his issue being the primary paint defender and not the elite help defender that he is.
-LeBron had a good game, AD had a good game, rest of the team…not so much.
-Gerald is right, this will not the #1 defensive team in the NBA.
-I’m fine with LT’s proposed starting line up, not sure that’s enough to fix our defense because it’s the perimeter that’s the issue.
-Wasn’t the early part of the schedule supposed to be the soft part?
-Kudos to Kerr for his halftime adjustments and motivational speech.
-Want to add the juice Carmelo brings to the crowd. They light up whenever he touches the ball, awesome. Now he just needs to defend 10% better.Great show guys! Very enjoyable listen on my lunch break.

Read MoreThe Westbrook Rules:
Westbrook Rule #1: Surround Russ with Elite Shooters
Westbrook Rule #2: Surround Russ with Elite Defenders
Westbrook Rule #3: Encourage Russ to Be RussThere’s no doubt it will be difficult for the Lakers to follow the Westbrook rules, especially until all of the injured players are back, but they need to try and do that because it’s how they consistently get the best version of Russell Westbrook.
Russ will be walking this tightrope between standing out and fitting in all season. Truth is he’s not a ‘fit in’ kind of player. He’s more of a ‘stand out’ kind of player.
I’m hoping to see Triple-Double Russ on the court tonight. The metric that counts is still the win but I think Russ having a triple-double would almost guarantee a LeBron/AD team won the game.
Lakers need to let Russ be Russ.
But in the end, it’s Russ who has to be Russ.-
Great podcasts, guys. Gerald was his usual host extraordinaire and Sean and Jamie piped in with their usual smart observations and classic comments. There were so many ‘great takes’ by Sean and Jamie that I wish I had not been on a hike so I could have written all of them down. Proud to have three of these guys as my partners at Lakerholics.Com
If anybody wants a quick primer of the kind of discussions and fellow Lakers fans they’ll encounter on Lakerholics.Com, listening to this great podcast is the key. Great banter, solid BBIQ, fun ribbing, and obvious preparation that showed up in the smart observations and insightful comments.
Loved that the podcast was more than a hour as I didn’t have to scramble for something to listen to on the last of my daily three mil hike. Great job on the rest of the West. I’ll finished the pod tomorrow to see what you guys think about the East. But great listen, guys. Thanks.

Lakers Quietly Transforming Team Into 3-Point Offensive Juggernaut!
Don’t look now but the Los Angeles Lakers have been quietly transforming what has been one of the league’s worst 3-point shooting teams this season into a legitimate top-5 3-point shooting modern offensive juggernaut.

5 Things: Finding Some Grit
65 games in and the team is starting to look a little sterner, little grittier. One of the ugliest first halves I’ve seen since the 90’s man. The win was one of the more impressive of the season, in my opinion. 1) Luka finding solace on the court. Sounds like his personal life has been […]

Great to see the Lakers pull out a win. Grizzlies are going to be a problem for a lot of teams. Quality win over quality team.
