Despite the avalanche of mostly happenstance and heresay journalism predicting the Lakers land Kyrie, all based on the assumption the Nets actually trade him, there are scenarios in which we start and even end the season with Russ on the roster. I think he’ll be traded by the deadline but you never know.

Great show guys. The return of Thomas Bryant could be a really great thing. Damien probably tops out as the better defender but Bryant is a far more accomplished and diverse offensive talent. Either way we got younger and more athletic at the 5 which was a huge goal for the summer.
-
I think the flip from old to young along with adding the Bryant/Jones tandem which creates a very different dynamic is good for 2-3 wins, maybe more if Bryant really turns back the clock and is this season’s Malik Monk. I also kinda feel like “Youth Movement” undersells it a bit as, while young, all these guys have been around a few seasons and are entering prime talent range.
-
Hard for the Lakers to get a windfall given the tools they had to work with. I think that, outside LW4, they’ve done a pretty decent job.
-
Granted I’m not holding my breath waiting for Russ news everyday as I see a very good chance we start camp. If not even later.
-
Also it’s all dependent on health to LeBron and AD the rest of this debate is massaging the gray areas around those 2.
-
That’s it in a nutshell Jamie. No trades even matter if AD and LeBron can’t stay on the court. That’s the case with all teams. Other teams man not have fallen as far as the Lakers did when their stars went down but they had better depth. Bottom line is you don’t win a ring when star players are hurt.
-
-
-
This team will defensively. We will have to wait and see if we can get enough offense to support the improved defense.
-
That’s going to hinge heavily on the shooting from trading Kyrie.
If we open the season with Russ, we’re going to suffer.
-
-
Thanks for watching guys. A few things still have to fall into place before the Lakers can truly compete at the top of the Western Conference. Hopefully getting younger is a good start to that.

Lakers Quietly Transforming Team Into 3-Point Offensive Juggernaut!
Don’t look now but the Los Angeles Lakers have been quietly transforming what has been one of the league’s worst 3-point shooting teams this season into a legitimate top-5 3-point shooting modern offensive juggernaut.

5 Things: Lakers Bounced from NBA Cup
I’m not crying over the Lakers losing out on the chance to win their 2nd NBA Cup and some cash, I am annoyed over how it happened. True to form in the 2025-26 season, the Lakers lost in blowout fashion. Almost every single one of our loss has been by 10+ points (the first loss […]

I like the new intro Gerald!
Lotta ins and outs on the Kyrie Irving front. Do the Lakers do the deal if Kyrie doesn’t want to come here? I’m not so sure.
LeBron not signing the extension is the next big question.
Max-C looks like project but you never know. SP Jr. same. If either of those guys is on the opening day roster it means there’s likely a problem. Swider the Sniper could take a 14-15 spot.
Why didn’t Austin Reaves do summer league? He has plenty to work on…
Tom with a really objective view on the potential of Kyrie staying a Net. #wewillsay
Kontract Kyrie year! You know he’s going to do everything but maybe get vaxxed…
Everyone assumes it’s the Lakers dragging their feet and I don’t see that as being 100% true. I think they are literally just waiting to see what they can get for Durant. This part ain’t rocket science to me.
Gerald I’m loving all the little tickers and screen shifts.
Kyrie ain’t a top ten player… Maybe top 20, Gerald. Maybe. Doesn’t play a lot (55 games a season average), doesn’t defend, hasn’t taken a team to the NBA Finals without LeBron.
Gerald you keep trying to derail the Optimism Train that is LakerTom. He’ll give out an A+ and declare it all a success months before you see it or before a trade has happened! I kid of course, if a Kyrie trade goes through and LeBron signs the extension I bump the grade up to a B minus. Not a fan of the LW4 signing at all.
Predicting something Irving will do is like predicting what a cat will do. Impossible.
Amazon Prime Day?! You better be getting a check Gerald, lol…
