LA has shifted from heavy use of drop coverage last year to relatively very little of it this year.
LA is making good use of the mobility of AD/Harrell/Kieff/Gasol w/those coverages. It'll take some time to refine, but looking promising so far.

The move to eliminate the drop coverage is why the Lakers won the championship last season and why they dumped their traditional back to the basket defensive centers. It’s what Frank Vogel learned during the playoffs and why our defense really clicked. Tim is exactly right that it’s the mobility and athleticism to challenge every shot and rotate quickly and anticipate where the ball is going that is more important in today’s 3-ball driven league. Even though he’s slow and can’t jump, Marc Gasol is going to help us be a better defense because of BBIQ than JaVale or Dwight. We lose some rim protection but are better overall defensively.
