Lakers don’t want to play drop coverage anymore, which is a big part of why the Lakers didn’t bring either of them back. It’s why Morris and AD played the 4/5 in the playoffs. They want to rotate and switch and challenge shots everywhere on the court, not sag into the post to protect the rim. You saw that with Marc Gasol against the Blazers. This was the lesson the Lakers learned in the playoffs and why McGee and Howard became unplayable. Problem last night was Trezz AND AD didn’t do their jobs.
