Impressive. All-Star potential offensively and defensively. Great scouting report with excellent analysis of his potential defensively, including protecting the rim and defending on the perimeter. Perfect fit to play alongside AD in a 4/5 or 5/4 tandem. Would elevate the Lakers at both ends of the court, wants to leave Detroit, and is slated to be worth the non-taxpayer MLE, which the Lakers have but many other competitors like the Warriors, Rockets, 76ers, Bucks, and Clippers only have the $5.6 million room exception.
Like the fit beside AD. He’s a #2 fit on list of right players next to him.
What I love about Wood is how he impacts both our offense and defense. He’s like Morris on steroids or a still developing clone of AD. Five guys who can shoot the three and attack the rim on offense. And five guys who can defend on defense. I especially like the size factor. We would have a modern front court with 6’9″ LeBron, 6’11’ Wood, and 6’10” Davis… and Big Boogie on the bench when we need low post power.
