Aloha,
The Clippers signed Brook Lopez. So with both Capella and Brook off the board one wonders if it’s going to be Ayton. They can’t sign him until he clears waivers. But we will have a better idea by what other moves they make. There could also be a trade. If the Lakers were to cut Shake they could have up to 5 roster spots, so a lot can happen.
There are some curious players still out there, one’s whom I thought would be among the quicker dominoes to fall. Lopez & Turner are the top 2 names but seeing :’D’Lo get me signed ahead if Clarkson was a curiosity, to me anyhow. My man JC can run an offense, score in a microwave role, and impacts winning better.
Reportedly, Lopez got a 2 year/ $18 million contract….I really wanted the Lakers to get him…..
With Luke Kornet signing with Spurs most of the bigs are off the table. Of the big names Horford and Ayton are the only two left. Unless there is a trade in the works, it’s looking more like Ayton will be the guy.
Just read, Mason Plumlee even signed with the Hornets for $3.5 M….he would have been a good physical 2nd or 3rd center (and the Lakers need more physical players, besides Markieff Morris on the bench last season). At least if it’s Ayton, he won’t run into snow or ice in his driveway. And Kornet is now signing with the Spurs….
