Lakers Proposed Trade for Karl-Anthony Towns

    • FROM THE ABOVE ARTICLE:

      Los Angeles Lakers
Towns might land on the optimistic end of L.A.’s trade budget, but the Lakers might have just enough assets and money-matching salaries to get a deal done. And while he isn’t the lob-crusher many might envision the franchise pairing with Luka Dončić, Towns’ ability to stretch the floor could prove even more beneficial for the Lakers’ stars.

The three-star model has proved a tricky one under the collective bargaining agreement, but a trio of Towns, Dončić and LeBron James might have enough combined star power to pull it off. L.A.’s defense might take a hit, but that may not matter if the offense is pumping in 125-plus points per night.

    Shooting coach

    Aloha,

The Lakers should put some of that new money to work. Adou has a lot of offensive weapons as a cutter, finisher and lob threat. Needs help shooting. Hire the best shooting coach available. Vando and Brony both could benefit as well.

Athleticism is the name of the game

We saw the Lakers invest in cost controlled projects with high upside. Adou Thiero is an athletic defense first player who is an offensive project.

Eric Dixon is a scoring phenom and defensive project who see time as a point forward.

All in all, not expecting much from their rookie years.

    Eric Dixon

    Aloha,

Wow, that was fast. Lakers signed Eric Dixon the NCAA scoring champion.

Dixon is a big-bodied point forward who bullies his way to spots and can finish with either hand after an array of fakes. He’s a solid mid-range shooter, but he’s elite beyond the arc. Making 41% of 7.2 3-point attempts per game would be top-tier marks for anybody, but getting that type of production from a 6-foot-8, 255-pound player who can also handle the ball will certainly turn some heads. Dixon’s ability to put the ball in the basket should translate to the next level, but to carve out a consistent role, he’ll have to improve defensively, especially on the boards.

LAKERS MUST HAVE TRADE SET FOR CENTER!

    • I mean…there are like 12 free agents centers out there. Moe Wagner just got waived (non-guaranteed deal), Capella, Hayes, Precious, and many others. No need for a trade, especially if it takes a draft pick. I’d do swaps.

      • In the playoffs most centers get played off the floor, this guy could play the 4 in a small ball line up and defends at a high collegiate level.

        • Kalkbrenner apparently was the center they were interested in. When was gone they found a guy that filled another glaring need. I could actually see Adou being more NBA ready than any of the 2nd round centers available. I’m confident that we will fill the center spot. And honestly some of the centers we could pick up, even for the tax payer MLE probably would help us win more than a 2nd round center that may need to be developed.

    • Young, long, and athletic…I’ll never complain about that. I’ll take that over the 9th center picked who might not even be able to contribute for a coupla years…might as well just stick with Jax in that case.

    • I’m sure they do not think he will be available at 45 Tom. Give them a little credit. One article I read had this trade as the first step. They had to start moving up I am sure they are now trying to see if they can move up again using the 45th. If they can’t they will get a better player at 45 then 55.

    Sion james

    Aloha,

The focus on the Lakers have been center centric but what if moving up had nothing to do with a center. What if the target was a wing defender. The Bleacher report has the Lakers taking Sion James a 6′ 5″ G/F that is built like a tank and was all ACC defensive player for Duke. His NBA comparison is Lu Dort. But unlike Lu who had to work on his 3 point shooting coming into the NBA, Sion already shoots 38% from 3. At 22 he could be rotation ready.
