That’s not even close to the haul they’ll get. Should read “Best Trade the Lakers Can Make In-Season” lol. They’re going to get better than that, should he ask out now, guaranteed.
According to ESPN (so dubious, at best) the Knicks were the team he’d go to this summer. Evidently that is no longer the case and you’d have to expect Milwaukee will do their utmost to get enough draft assets to hit the reset button now. That’s not our offer, which is admittedly the “kitchen sink” offer we could put out there.
Honestly, for the Lakers, it would be better for him to have waited until the summer when we’d have 3 more picks to add outright along with the kitchen sink. Could have balanced the contracts better by signing and trading Rui and Reaves.
Top 5 in-season suitors:
-Bulls
-Heat
-Clippers
-Raptors
-Pistons
Top 5 summer suitors:

-Pelicans
-Celtics
All of those teams can trade more draft picks outright and also cobble together the $$$ to make it work.
Lakers are close to being contenders as they are…as long as they are healthy and continue to build chemistry and maturity going into the playoffs….and I’m not thinking the play-in positions. Everything about this trade aborts this season and following seasons, giving up 2 players the Lakers will be built around when Lebron retires….and with the Chris Paul situation which looks like it’ll be retirement, unless he gets a spot on the Lakers for which he doesnt fit…it would be a charitable move. Losing all the draft capital in the trade isn’t great. Those are either players for the future, or trade pieces in other trades…not all clumped together for one player. And Giannis could start to be slowed with injuries, such as the minor one he has had recently. I’m all for trading Vanderbilt and his hard to move contract (Vanderbilt still isnt the answer to what his fans envision him to be, he still fumbles the ball, misses easy shots, only gets the rebounds that happen to land in his hands, and the obvious…he stalls the offense)….but on the other side of the lesser players to be moved…I’m actually starting to be impressed with Maxi Kleber. He seems to fit fairly well with Luka, and Austin/Lebron….he moves pretty well for his size. It would be great if he had a little more size to hold position against the likes of Jokic…and a player such as Zubac….
Lot to agree with here, in the end I don’t see us being involved unless it’s as a 3rd team that hopefully routes a low end contract in exchange for any draft picks at all. That would be dope.
Isn’t he out for 4 weeks?
