JRUE HOLIDAY TRADE TO LAKERS?While not a long-term solution, Jrue Holiday would be a perfect backcourt mate for Luka Doncic for the next couple of years if the Blazers want to move him. With a Lillard slated to join Sharpe, Henderson, and Thybulle in a promising young Blazers'… https://t.co/TL29qg8TF1 pic.twitter.com/092slS6ELJ— LakerTom (@LakerTom) July 17, 2025
Not even sure how to respond. First the Trailblazers made it clear that they intend to keep Holiday. 2nd your trade gives them 17 players under contract. 3rd they already have a very good forward rotation with Avidija, Camara who was 2nd team all nba defense last year, Grant and Thybule. Don’t see why they would want to trade for Rui. And losing Rui would give our forward depth very thin. Holiday at the 3? He’s 6’ 4”. He might be a good defender but teams would be posting him up all day. Don’t forget, Rui not only starts at the 3 but he is our best option at the 4 when LeBron rests. Just another example of your Rui hate.
I wouldnt do that trade either…Would be giving up 3 players that have had moments of productivity…..all 3 have done well as spot up catch and shoot for 3’s. Jrue Holiday, I believe, is a bit on the older side, 35….and I agree with Michael that Rui has done pretty well when he fills in for Lebron, for a game, or for rest…..Knecht….I still can’t get over the 37 points off 3 dribbles game he had…Vincent, I never loved him but I did see moments this past season where he filled a role, his role….which is not even being a point guard (as that is done by Luka, Lebron, and Reaves)….I think Holidays productivity would be sporadic this coming season and going forward….to the days when Lebron is retired???? I’d rather have a re-signed Rui with confidence, and Knecht, ….Vincent, I’m indifferent on….but unless someone offers something great for him in a trade, I would not salary dump him, whereas I wanted to earlier….and keep in mind that Lilliard is out for the coming season….so I say let the Trailblazers figure their own roster issues on their own….getting tired of being on the wrongside on trade proposals….
Jrue was huge for the Bucks & Celts during their title runs…but he’s not the same dude. Still a good player but I’m not sure you send out a buncha dudes to get him. Pick up one of these guards off the buyout market, keep your assets for a better trade, and just roll with that. There aren’t alotta moves out there that’ll get us closer to OKC this season.
