LAKERS MUST HAVE TRADE SET FOR CENTER!Why else would the Lakers pass on selecting Maxime Raynaud, the consensus #1 center left in the second round, who was available to select at #36?While Raynaud as a rookie would be a backup at best, it's shocking to see the Lakers, who… https://t.co/gn4GakMTdW pic.twitter.com/ZCpFV1Pl79— LakerTom (@LakerTom) June 27, 2025
I mean…there are like 12 free agents centers out there. Moe Wagner just got waived (non-guaranteed deal), Capella, Hayes, Precious, and many others. No need for a trade, especially if it takes a draft pick. I’d do swaps.
In the playoffs most centers get played off the floor, this guy could play the 4 in a small ball line up and defends at a high collegiate level.
Kalkbrenner apparently was the center they were interested in. When was gone they found a guy that filled another glaring need. I could actually see Adou being more NBA ready than any of the 2nd round centers available. I’m confident that we will fill the center spot. And honestly some of the centers we could pick up, even for the tax payer MLE probably would help us win more than a 2nd round center that may need to be developed.
I am interested in seeing if they have any undrafted player targets for a two way.
Young, long, and athletic…I’ll never complain about that. I’ll take that over the 9th center picked who might not even be able to contribute for a coupla years…might as well just stick with Jax in that case.
We could do a lot worse than Jax!
